The List.

Keeping with the Simplifying theme.......

Having a Servants heart.
We have already discussed Helping others,
but having a servants heart for your family
should be our priority.

Enjoy the Journey.
We can get so caught up in trying to achieve a simple lifestyle,
that we can forget to play and then we will lose our focus.

Shop wisely.
There are so many ways to be more frugal.
Being frugal will enable us to save money
for that rainy day.
And believe me it is going to rain.
Eat for less.
This is probably our number 1 expense.
So right now, we are eating out of our freezer and
pantry to see how long we can go without going
to the store!
It does no good to stock up if it just sits in our cabinets
or the freezer.

Just Say No.
Do we have our priorities in order?
Are we too busy?
1. God.
2. Self.
3. Family.
4. Work.
5. Church.
6. Everything & everyone else.

Make A List.
We often put way too much on our plates.
Start small, putting just enough on our plate.
Where do we want to start?
Our spiritual life?
Our family life?
Our house?
Our finances?
Our Meals?
Our work?

Don't worry, Don't hurry, Do your best,
and leave the rest!

And that ye study to be quiet, and do your own business,
and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without,
and that ye may have lack of nothing.
Thessalonians 4:11,12 KJV

All The Rest Does Not Matter

Oh God,
When I have food, help me to remember the hungry.
When I have work, help me to remember the homeless.
When I am without pain, help me to remember those who suffer.
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency and bestir my compassion.
Make me concerned enough to help,
by word or deed, those who cry out
for what we take for granted.
******************************************
As I have been thinking of simplifying things, this is
my prayer, because if I don't put HIM and others first,
all the rest does not matter.
*****************************************
But Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33

Simplicity

A simple life has different meanings to different people.
For me, it is eliminating stuff & stress.
Learning how to relax is something I have found hard to do.
Stress will kill you and stuff will smother you.

Getting to that point of simplicity is a journey, not a destination.
You can be a stay at home Mom (which by the way, is the hardest job ever) or
you could be a person with a career.
It doesn't matter.
It is a work in progress.

You may be a perfectionist.
I am not.
There is no end to trying to have simplicity in your life......
The reward is reaching that goal.

Your home is where you can find that simplicity in the little gifts
that come your way that you might overlook.
What is your goal to living simple?
Pick something little to change.
Flylady says to start with a clean kitchen sink.
Hmmmmm....is kind of nice.

Next time you walk in your front door, remember it is your decision
what happens in your home.
Is it a comfortable refuge for happiness?
Just some of my thoughts on living simply.
Home is the best place I know to start.

Behold the fowls of the air; for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Matthew 6:26

A Walk To Remember

My neighbor brought me flowers the other day and invited me to
come and take pictures in her yard for a while. So today I did.
Look at this cute walkway she has at the side of her yard.
Can you tell what the stepping stones are?

You are right!
FROGS!
Love it!

They raise Lenten roses.
Hellebores is the other name for these.
I am just learning about these between my neighbor
and my friend Becky.

When you take a walk, you start to think.
Think on these things........
Whatsoever is true, honest and just.
Whatsoever things are pure.....
 Whatsoever things are lovely......
These pictures do not do her yard justice.
My 3 tulip trees are blooming.
God is so good.
The whole earth is full of HIS Glory.
Every flower must grow through dirt.
Good lesson, huh?

Our mind is our Garden
Our thoughts are the seeds
We can grow flowers
Or we can grow weeds.
God has perfect timing never early & never late.
It takes a little patience & a whole lot of faith!
Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers....
Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul.

If we could see the miracle of a single
flower clearly our whole life would change.
